Wedding Gowns: Time to Say Yes to the Dress!

Now for the fun part!

You and your favorite ladies have synchronized schedules and now you're off to the swankiest bridal salons in town to indulge in an afternoon full of elegant gowns, champagne and creating memories to last a lifetime! An attendant will wait on you hand and foot, bringing you gown after gown to try on and consider until your heart is content. Good times will be had by all.

Finally, after trying on what will seem like thousands of dresses, you try on one last gown and instantly you know this is THE DRESS! You are finally ready to say 'Yes!' to the dress. The hunt is over and all is well in engagement land. You order your dress and excitedly await its arrival for the next 14 weeks. You're so busy with planning other aspects of the wedding, that the time flies by and the next thing you know the salon is calling you back to pick up your dress and schedule the first fitting.

It's Here!

Now, you're off to the first of several fittings. The excitement of trying on your dress for the first time is building and you can't wait to get to your appointment! Upon arrival, you excitedly take your dress into the dressing room, step into the gown, pull it up over your waist then glide it up to your shoulders with the intention of having the back zipped up by your mother whom has accompanied you to this fitting. Much to your surprise, that didn't go as smoothly as you anticipated. There was a little resistance with the zipper once she got to the middle of your back. The nerve! Your mother and the salon attendant make several attempts to fully zip up your gown, but if they try any harder the zipper will rip off! You quickly come to realize that those extra brownies you had to comfort you during the more stressful moments of wedding planning probably weren't a good idea.

Well, as it turns out you are not alone. In fact, research shows that an overwhelming 91 percent of brides-to-be are anxious about their weight. The good news is that you don't have to be. Many brides decide to ramp up their fitness routines just before their big wedding day to achieve desired looks or simply just want to embark on a new healthier lifestyle to go along with their new title of 'Mrs.'

Whatever the rationale, it's always a good idea to consult your physician and a certified fitness trainer to help you achieve your goals. Once you've taken those two important steps, you're well on your way to sliding in your dream dress by your wedding day. You'll float down the aisle, like your gown was made just for you, and no one will be the wiser!
